Upsell hell

Comments:

Generally, any offer after or at the same time of the sale is an upsell. However, there is also a more specific meaning to the word, namely, upsell at the higher price. That is when the prospect bought a product for, say, $27, then upsell offer may be for $97.

That’s different from downsell, when the new item offered has a lesser price, or cross-sell, when the new item is from a different category (e.g. offering hiking gear to a person, who just bought a trail map) or from other vendor (presenting an affiliate offer)
