Weekly News and Changes to the Newsletter - 10/15/2009

You probably noticed there was no weekly newsletter for almost two weeks now. No, I am not dropping out, there is a good reason for that.

First, I was on vacation. And when I am on vacation, I am REALLY on vacation. I went to a place with no Internet, no email, not even mobile phone coverage, just ocean, forest, cabins, and -- according to stories -- occasional werewolves around guarding a sleep of their guests...

Video on the newest Google Slap from PPC Bully folks

Yefi from PPC Bully posted a video on the newest (really newest) Google Slap.
Basically, that an attack on fake blogs (flogs) and those "free+shipping" offers with hidden monthly searches.

His recommendations are:

- Stay away from flogs (especially, if you drive PPC traffic to it)
- Stay away from "Money from Google" (see "Free+Shipping Pattern"), specifically, making those
- Use your own landing pages, direct linking is nearly the thing of the past. Also, not just single page, a bit more.

If you've got slapped:
1. Download and re-upload campaigns.
2. Switch domains.

Wow! I am #1 on Google!

I just found that after a month of existence, InternetMarketingPatterns.com ranks #1 on Google for "Internet marketing patterns" keywords. Wow! I even did not do any SEO yet, I just did not had any time for that...
