Shawn Casey

Shawn Casey is well known for his Gold Mine Corporation with a set of Internet business training courses targeted at the beginners. He is one of a few Internet marketers around who was here before 2000, but not too long before. According to his own words, he jumped on Internet in 1999 with a sweepstakes site buying traffic on Commission Junction and converting it at profit (see PPC Arbitrage article). Before that, in 1995-1999, he worked in the informational products industry offline doing real estate and business seminars, including legal trainings for assets protection. Amazingly, I think I remember his report on why everyone should incorproate in one of the paper direct mail catalogs. Before 1995 he was practicing law in Pittsburgh with specialization, you guessed it, on real estate and small business.

Among his offerings, he has a number of affordable courses, which are on my list for evaluation review. I have a couple of them, and it all makes sense, in fact, a lot of sense, but I need time to do real evaluation before I can wholeheartedly recommend or not recommend it. For now I can say that if you are just starting, certainly buy one of his affordable courses - it will help you to jump into the context of making business online.

The only one caveat dealing with Shawn I see is that, being of the old school, he'll actually make his stuff call you with a follow up and offering helping you with your business, which is also likely to include some upsell. As long as you are comfortable talking to people on the phone, that's rather stimulating. Just don't give him your cell phone, especially if you are still doing your 9 to 5 - those friendly calls may come at a wrong moment.

Naturally, not everyone who buys his courses makes a lot of money. After all, a lot of people buy courses and don't even read them. However, he has a good record of helping Internet starters. Among his most successful students are Ewen Chia and Tellman Knudson, two notable figures in the Internet marketing now.

If you feel uncomfortable buying any of the Shawn's Internet courses, go ahead and get Ewen's book on Amazon. Frankly, I personally like books because you can read them on a beach or sitting on a swing in your backyard, where sun makes it real hard to read or watch from a notebook screen.
