In Internet marketing since: ~2004 (?)
Expertise: viral and affiliate marketing
Previous profession: auto-dealership manager
Mike Filsaime is most known for his Butterfly Marketing, an Internet marketing system optimized for its viral elements. He entered the playfield after the 2000 dot-com bust (around 2004?) and made quite a splash in the years afterward. In a sense, he is the "Shawn Casey" of the second generation of Internet marketers - a title that does not come easy when competing with such names as Frank Kern, Eben Pagan and Rich Schefren. By the way, he is a student of Rich Schefren, and that's when he had grown his business from one man operation into the multimillion enterprise.
Before his Internet career, he was a manager at a car dealership, and at some moment he just knew that he had to do something different and just cannot take it anymore -- a feeling, familiar to a lot of people who still have their 9 to 5 jobs. And so he did. In spite of coming from the industry with a quite shady reputation, I was impressed with how ethically Mike treats his customers. Cancellation from his continuity programs are very smooth and easy, and I never got from him a follow up call except the case when I accidentally created a duplicate account on PayDotCom - his affiliate system; and it was not a sales call, it was a support call, they really wanted to help. That alone is something that make him stand out compared to some other Internet marketers, especially from the first generation.
And yes, he created his own affiliate system PayDotCom, similar to ClickBank, and probably the most powerful one after the ClickBank. In addition to ClickBank features it also allows a number of additional options, like selling physical products and getting paid instantly when selling your own products. If you are in affiliate marketing, free affiliate account there is a must, because of how much it improves your choices of products to promote.
He has tons of products out there, most famous one is his Seven Figure Secrets club with an instant website to promote PayDotCom products. I found the content of his programs valuable, but like with any Internet marketing trainings you have always balance between learning and actually doing things, and he has so much stuff in his programs that if you learn it all, you'll never have time to start earning money. However, if you at the beginning of the journey and have to learn first, his courses are the great place to start.
A fair warning, if you are REALLY technically inept and have difficulty grasping even simplest concepts, you may want to start from Shawn Casey's stuff. Shawn's courses and clubs (Business-In-A-Box, Easy Profits Club, List Builiding Club with Tellman Knudson, eBook Money Machine and others) are really great for people starting with an absolute zero marketing experience (you've just heard that people make BIG money on that Internet thingy), and no technical knowledge whatsoever (you call support to ask where is that "any" button and why is it missing on your keyboard). For anybody more advanced, Shawn Casey's courses may be a bit too simplistic and consuming time with trivialities, and then Mike's courses would work much better for you. No offense and no jokes intended, different people need different kinds of training, you decide yourself which one is better for you.
