Rich Schefren

Rich is a legend of Internet marketing. Surprisingly, he only got to Internet marketing after 9.11, but he had a very successful career of turnaround exec in a couple of companies before that with the first success around the time he was only 22. Despite late entry, in merely 8 years after he turned to Internet, he become a legend and, according to himself, he trained an order of magnitude more Internet marketing gurus than his closest competitor (who, I suspect, is Eben Pagan, still a very respected person in the field).

What makes me love about Rich is that whatever he said falls into one of three categories:

  1. That's something I believed long before I've heard it from him.
  2. That's something I was publicly preaching long before I've heard it from him.
  3. I did not believe or preached it before I've heard it from him only because I never thought about it before.

Once you learn about me a bit more (like my 2005 article "The Future of SEO" about SEO techniques, predicting demise of black hat SEO and more Google slaps), you'll see that that's a lot of a compliment. Many call him a Jay Abraham of Internet marketing, which is also a lot of a compliment.

He is most famous for his Internet Business Manifesto and two follow ups to it, which are now available for free from his site. See the square banner on the right. If you don't have it yet, go get it.

His site, StrategicProfits.com, is a valuable resource to watch for, especially his blog with latest addition "Founders Video Series"
